A Taste of The Future
I had two 12-hour days at the plant this weekend, so I'm beat. I had to go on takeout yesterday. Grabbed a medium Arby's roast beef sandwich for lunch (no fries) and a five guys bacon cheeseburger with fries for dinner.

I'm down from Saturday, at least. I'm pretty much stuck grabbing takeout today, because I'm low on groceries and I haven't had time to get to the store. My plan's to grab a sandwich only from Chic-Fil-A for breakfast/lunch on the way to work, and then grab dinner from Panera, either a salad or a sandwich with an apple or somesuch. I think I still have a few oranges I can toss in my bag to keep me going for snacks, so I'll do that.
I guess this is what I have to get used to for the near future. 7-12s is something I've known is coming, but I thought I had more time until it happened. I'll have to adjust when/how I shop to accommodate a 12 hour instead of 8-10 hour work schedule.
I need to get my fat ass in gear and get out the door, mind the stepchildren, Fatheads!

Hungry Drunk
Decided to experiment with drinking night last night with mixed results.
Weight: 295.5 lbs
Body Fat: 40.6%
Water: 45.5%
I stuck to my routine during work and before work, but when I got home, I had a peanut butter sandwich made with raisin bread and an orange, prior to playing Halo and drinking Diet Dr. Pepper and Rum. You see, I'm a firm believer in a solid carb base prior to commencing to drinking. At around midnight, I had Jimmy Johns delivered, and I ate a Gargantuan (all the things) before going to bed (I have a Club Lulu, which is bacon and turkey, in the fridge for tonight).
Clearly, this didn't work out perfectly, so I will moderate my activity tonight a little better and see how the results go. Perhaps I will eat half the Club Lulu prior to consuming adult beverages, and the other half when I go all "I must consume all the things!".
At any rate, I'm grabbing breakfast and setting up my dinner/lunch for work as I usually do, because there's always overtime to be had here.
Enjoy your Saturday, Fatheads!

Of course, to those of us who worked the weekend, this day carries none of the awful stigma that it does for the rest of you. I ended up continuing to eat fast food through lunch yesterday, but finally made it to the grocery store last night.
I have stocked up on various fruits and vegetables, as well as a box of some terrifying Kashi cereal and a stack of Lean Cuisine meals. I'm grabbing a breakfast right now of a cup of whatever this cereal is made of (fiber?) and skim milk, an apricot, a banana, a yogurt and a slice of raisin bread toast.
Of course, there's also the half-gallon of water I choke down with breakfast.
Words of wisdom to get you through Monday.

Good Vacation
Howdy, ya'll!
Weight: 303.8 lbs

Well, I just got back from a 6.5 day vacation, and I'm itching to get back to work and back on a decent food routine. I'm now working noon to 9 or so most days, although I need to flex time for 3 days this week and half a day last week, so I'm going to be working over the weekend and more like 11am-10pm most days for a bit.
I'm working on exactly what my new schedule's going to be, as far as food and working out are concerned. I'm thinking about an 8am wakeup, followed by breakfast, workout, showering/personal time, and then a light lunch when I get to my desk (fruit/granola bar/yogurt sort of thing). I'll probably have a snack around 3 or so (similar choices to lunch) and then have a full dinner at 6 or 7. I'm not 100% on what I'm going to start doing for the dinner meal, but salad+Lean Cuisine (or the large quantity of Nutrisystem I have in my pantry) seems the likely choice.
I'm not currently planning on re-upping my Nutrisystem order. I have a large amount of the stuff sitting around in very asymmetrical quantities, and the hassle of having more ordered/delivered when I want to be free to take non-local temporary assignments is not worth it.
I'm stuck with takeout for food today, but I'm going to go grocery shopping tonight when I get off of work (the nice grocery stores here are 24/7). Back to a regular update schedule soon.

Still Alive
G'day Fatheads.
I know it's been quite awhile, but I have valid excuses! I've been on travel assignment for the Company for the last 75 or so days, basically. I was gone for 29 days, then I was on the road for vacation for about 5 days, and then I was gone 2 days later for another 29 days on the road for the Company. Plus side: I've got top-tier status on most of my travel accounts. Minus side: I had the company feed me whatever my fat little heart desired.
I was up in the Seattle area for the travel, and I tried to get out for day hikes (that is Mt. Pilchuck), but I was mostly working 7 days a week, with many of those days being 12 hours long. I mostly ate as I ought, but I certainly had some misbehavior happening, especially for the last week and a half of this past trip.
Weight: 300.4 lbs
Body Fat: 41.5%
Water: 44.8%
So I'm up many pounds from my last weigh-in. Around 18-20 lbs, and I am very disappointed in myself. I really considered putting this off for a day or two, but I've never found there's any point in delaying pain.
I really need to develop a schedule that works for me and a healthy diet. I'm switching to a (nominal) 8-hour split shift (between 1st and 2nd) in the near future (scheduled either 10am or 12pm to 6:30pm or 8:30pm), but that will actually be probable minimum 10-hour days at 6 per week, eventually getting closer to 12/7s, as our workload ramps up.
I'm going on vacation again in another week, but I'm going to try and drop some weight before I do. While I'm on vacation, I'm probably going to destroy whatever progress I make in the next week, but at least this will put a dent in whatever gain I might make.
Cogito Ergo Doleo, Fatheads, and thanks for the continued support.

Tourism Weekend
Well, Fatheads, it's been a very exciting weekend here down in Charleston. I apparently took about 2 gigs worth of pictures while my brother was visiting, and much exciting food and drink was consumed as a part of our tourist experience.
Weight: 298.4 lbs
Body Fat: 41.4%
Water: 44.9%
But now, the weekend is over, and it's time to assess the damage. I'm up about 10 lbs from Friday, although much of that is almost certainly water weight. We had a great time checking out the many exciting restaurants the city has to offer, as well as imbibing at what might be called an unhealthy level by some, but I would refer to as a properly robust level.
This is a digital photograph of someone painting a building. Unfortunately, there exists no proper photograph of the fantastic meals we ate, which encompassed the entirety of exciting food options from the city. Several meals of seafood, along with one of our more exciting pizza joints here in town.
Today, it's back to the typical foods: South Beach snack bar for breakfast, then typical snacks/lunch during the day at work. What little remains of the "guest food" is either going in to work with me today or it's going in the trash. I need to keep some snacks around for poker night, but I can ignore that stuff if it's shoved away in a drawer. My feet are beat to hell from some of the walking this weekend (the shoes I wore Saturday night were definitely not intended for either walking or stumbling whatever distance was involved) so I'm probably going to try and take it easy on my feet for a few days, after which I'll get back on the elliptical to punish my horrible body for my sins.
In somewhat similar news, the brother just got one of the new fondle-slabs and has been showing it off this weekend, giving me a desire to own one of my very own. I'm thinking that, after I do my taxes, I'll look at possibly buying one. My typical buying pattern for Apple products is to wait until about 4-6 months, minimum, after the version I want comes out and just buy a refurb, but I may decided to break that pattern for the touchiness. I'm happy with my current Dell monstrosity of a laptop, so I don't really need a new primary computing device, and I have some problems with the idea of buying a not-entire-new-computer for a price higher than that of my last new main computer, but screw it. We wants it.
Experience terror. Those are the most lifeless, zombified eyes I've ever seen. Looking at them, one can't help but feel that the deep ones are reaching out for the minds and souls of the innocent YouTube user, carelessly meandering the net, looking only to understand a strange new meme. There can be no help for any of us now. The God is dead, and the old ones have come, all that can be hoped for is to be eaten first before we are driven to self-immolating insanity by the ones to whom we are as ants. IA IA! Cthulu Ftagn!
Here, an autotune palate cleanser. I'm so sorry to have done that to any of you so early in the morning, I know I won't be the same ever again.
Well, I'm off to the shower and then work, after which I need to take the bro to the airport.
Keep the faith, Fatheads, we'll get there.

I Need This Week To Be Over
As you'll be able to tell from the numbers below, I had quite the exciting weekend.
Weight: 303.6 lbs
Body Fat: 42.2%
Water: 44.2%
Well, only a few more days, until I go back to my home, and I'm basically where I was when I got here. It could, of course, be much worse than just maintaining weight. Having basically every meal out for the last month has been dangerous and annoying.
Most of all at this point, I'm kind of tired of not being able to just pack my lunches and eat my dinners in peace. The occasional meal out with coworkers after a long day or with friends on a weekend isn't so bad, but I really hate eating out every single meal. I brought all this Nutrisystem food with me with the best of intentions, but I've mostly only eaten it for some breakfasts, and one or two lunches.
The social component of eating out so many meals with co-workers has just been enormous, and the barrage of opportunities to be bad has just been too much for me. Even discounting the fun and exciting weekends, I've not been on very good behavior with my meals out.
But I've enjoyed myself, and learned a number of new things on this trip that I hadn't learned at my other job location, so it's overall a pretty good experience. I look forward to getting back to my regular job and home/car later this week, although it was nice to see many of my old friends.
I started out with "Punch You In The Jeans" stuck in my head, but only found some crappy version that some jackass recorded in his basement, so here's this instead.
Later, Fatheads.

Tie Me Up, Before
So I ate a bit too much yesterday at lunch. I had some beef tacos and chips, and I should have ditched the chips. For dinner I ate at a Thai place with some co-workers, which was quite good.
Weight: 300 lbs
Body Fat: 41.9%
Water: 44.5%
I've rarely eaten Thai food, not so much as a function of a lack of desire, as it is a function of the places I've lived/friends I've had not being big on it. I got "Boat Noodle Soup" with chicken, 4* (hotness scale that they first told me went to 5, but later said something about 9, I will go higher, next time). It was a huge amount of noodles, and I only had time to eat about 1/4 of it while we were in the restaurant. When I got home, I ate most of the rest of the broth (which was pretty fantastic) along with half of the remaining noodles.
I'm eating what's left for breakfast, because screw you, stomach. What have you done for me lately?
Tonight: dinner and drinks with friends. Tomorrow: drinks and... board games? I really dig on the nerds up here.
I'm off to the wild blue yonder, Fatheads.

Silent Shame
I've been too busy for most of this week to write updates, and those of you who have been paying attention know that a quiet Fatass is one who has been too busy to be bothered to eat right.
Weight: 303 lbs
Body Fat: 41.7%

I had a bit of a wild weekend, and have definitely been breaking my own rules about lunches (eating burgers and fries instead of nice healthy salads, etc.). I've even gone so far as to allow myself a beer with dinner on several nights. Yea and verily did I consume the things that thou shalt not consume, and at a length of nearly a week. I've been bad about drinking my water, too, barely finishing off a single quart over the course of the work day.
At any rate, I'm trying to get back on track today. I'll grab a salad for lunch, and get back to drinking a minimum 1 quart of water in the morning, and another in the afternoon
In unrelated news, the Pacific Northwest seems like a pretty decent place to live, other than the lack of sun, which hasn't been much of a problem the last few weeks. There's an interesting mix of nerds and outdoors-men here that I feel like I could get behind. Rather against it, I'm afraid, is the lack of palm trees and days on which no jacket is required.
The desperate way they speak of how amazing summer is up here is also a bit worrisome. Not necessarily because of the idea of only 2 months out of the entire year being wonderfully only 75-80 degrees, but more because they only have those two months of beautiful weather to look forward to all year. Sure, it doesn't generally get SUPER cold up here, and it never gets SUPER hot, but you know what the nuns would call that shit.
Limbo.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if I had to start out with building limbo from scratch, I'd begin with the weather from up here. I'd even keep the 2 months of semi-beautiful weather. Because I'm pretty sure that they only look so good because of the other 9 months of absolutely horrid weather, and serve to make the rest of it that much more miserable by comparison. You see (and this is the part where the Catholic/Dante's Divine Comedy jokes are gonna get a bit thick, so you might want to shut your brain off right now) the great punishment of purgatory is the denial of the presence of God (fucking esoteric, right?) and it's made all the worse by the knowledge of the nearness of God's divine grace (summer). And even when they GET summer up here, it's only a pale imitation of what you can get in the rest of the world, so it's not the TRUE grace of God present in their lives. What I'm trying to say is this:
Unbaptized babies go to Seattle.
Chew on THAT, Fatheads.

Sunday Madness
I worked a bit of a long day yesterday, coming back to the hotel after 10, so I'm running a bit late today/need to keep it brief. I had a rather large breakfast yesterday, and ate a few granola bars and 2 apples over the course of my day at work. For dinner, I had a bbq chicken wrap with a side of steak fries and melon.

Overdoing It
I overdid it a bit at dinner and lunch yesterday. For lunch, I had some chinese food (noodles and orange chicken) and for dinner, I had Salmon Cakes (think crab cake, only they basically just took nice big chunks of salmon, rolled them in batter and fried them) and a Calamari appetizer. The cakes came with a side of rice, the devil's food, which I over-indulged in.
Also, I ordered a double whiskey, neat, and they brought me a tumbler full of whiskey. Now, I enjoy my whiskey, and I appreciate a good deal, but a 'single' is 2oz, generally, sometimes 3oz at a kind establishment, certainly not 4oz. 8oz is a pretty hefty drink to start a meal with, is all I'm saying.

Not really a huge change from yesterday, so I'll take it. I'm heading in to work, so I'll catch ya'll later.
G'day, Fatheads.

Hotel Living... Again
So I'm living in a hotel again, and that makes my life more interesting, from a diet perspective. I've got some Nutrisystem breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and I went to the supermarket yesterday to grab some basic vegetables/fruits/carbs/etc. I also picked up some South Beach snack bars because I couldn't fit any snack bars in my bag.
Weight: 304.4 lbs
Not even sure if that's right, because I've eaten like crap the last two days, and I'm ALSO dehydrated. Then again, I haven't crapped in 3000 miles, so who knows?
I'm going to work up a quick breakfast, try to crap, shower and get on the road. I have only the vaguest idea of where I'm going today, so it should be interesting.
G'day, Fatheads.

Weekend Fatness
I let myself off the leash a bit yesterday. I was stuck with buying lunch at work, because I wasn't there for long and I forgot to eat breakfast/pack a lunch before I left home, and they serve nothing healthy there. Apparently, all their sandwiches are on croissants and when you get "chips and a pickle" with the meal, they give you a giant boat of chips. Things didn't get better last night, with my delicious (read: unhealthy) takeout dinner, and a late-night sandwich delivery after a certain number of rum and diets were consumed. At least I didn't drink beer?

Plan for today: half of the second sandwich I ordered last night now, go out to the deli for a salad for dinner, and save the remaining half of the sandwich and bag of chips for drunk snack, should it be required.
For the record: I'd rather have a tail than giant ears.
Time to clean, Fatheads.

Bad Weekend
I worked a lot this weekend, and that's about all I did. Ate out most of my meals, and I was good for most of them, but one or two were rather bad.

Busy Busy Busy
I've become involved with a shop support project that has become something of an ordeal at work. Unfortunately, that means I was there until 10pm last night, and I'm going back into the shop this morning to continue to deal with it.

Yesterday, I had 2 egg mcmuffins without cheese for breakfast, and about 5 doughnut holes from Dunkin Donuts over the course of the day, as well as a bag of Nutrisystem Sour Cream and Onion Soy Chips. I left for dinner at about six, and had half a Bacon Turkey Bravo from Panera with an apple instead of chips and half of a chocolate chip cookie. When I got home, I ate the remainder of the sandwich and cookie, drank some gin and fell asleep watching Crank 2: High Voltage, which is possibly the best movie ever filmed. I'm, again, dehydrated and haven't crapped in a day or two, hopefully I'll get some "time for myself" this afternoon.
You like how I was vulgar and then I used a euphemism? Yeah, you do.
These are the breaks, Fatheads, ya'll take care, now.

Man, even when you love your job, this is the roughest day of the week.
I'm trying to hurry through my busy morning, so I had Nutrisystem Low-Fat Granola for breakfast.
For sides, I had an 8oz glass of milk (dairy), a juice box (fruit) and a slice of raisin bread toast (carbohydrate). An acceptable, if not particularly spectacular, meal.
My body's aching and my time is at hand, so I'd better go finish packing lunch, get in the shower and go to work.

The 300
Apparently, Saturday I passed 300 posts on this ridiculous little venture. I'm not sure how to feel about that. OH HOLY CHRIST THE JETS ACTUALLY WON? Now, no one likes to see any of the NY teams win (except maybe the Mets, because they're just so adorable) but I REALLY love to see New England losing. I can't believe I didn't watch because I didn't want to see the Pats win, again. On a side note: this makes me exactly 2-6 on my playoff predictions.
At any rate, last night I ate this. Did you know that Papa Johns is the only one of the major pizza chains that still offers a "small" pizza? I did not use the delicious garlic butter sauce, and the toppings were all the vegetables and sausage.

As I said yesterday, I was dehydrated, and now, after a day of eating largely carbs, I'm water-heavy. At least the weekend was pretty close to net zero change.
And this morning, it's back to our regularly scheduled meals. A frozen Nutrisystem Ham & Cheese Omelet.
And with that, I had a slice of raisin bread toast (carbohydrate), an 8oz glass of milk (dairy), and a juice box (fruit). I'm just finishing slugging down my breakfast quart of water, then it's on to the shower and work.
Son of a bitch. I finished writing the whole entry, and then Firefox froze up on me. I had to reconstruct from memory, so it's a bit short today. Stay free, Fatheads.

Back On The Horse
Morning, Fatheads!
I didn't post yesterday because I was in a huge rush in the morning and I just kind of spaced in the evening, so here's the farm report. I grabbed one of my Nutrisystem breakfast bars and a juice box for breakfast, then ate a yogurt, a juice box and a Nutrisystem Red Beans and Rice meal while I was at work. After work, I had to go to an appointment, after which I went to Whole Foods (not my normal supermarket, but there's one near where my appointment was) and picked up various vegetables for the week, along with dinner, which was an over-large bowl of clam chowder and some chips and guacamole. Inauspicious beginnings to this week, indeed.
Weight: 314.4
Scale fail on other numbers.
I also haven't gotten some good reading time in on the john in several days, which is starting to aggravate me. Add that to the list of reasons I shouldn't go off-script. At any rate, it's breakfast time.
The basis of today's breakfast was Nutrisystem Low-Fat Granola.
The STAR of today's breakfast was a scrambled egg (protein) with half a jalaepeno (extra food, I know) diced into it. I also had a slice of cinnamon raisin bread (carbohydrate), a blood orange (fruit) and the necessary 4oz of milk for the granola.
Jalapeno egg was a good decision, and thank god for that, because I've got 2.5 more of the things in a container in the fridge. On that note, I definitely went overboard at the supermarket last night. I bought about twice as many vegetables as I did last week, which I haven't actually finished. I guess this will force me to be better about sticking to the diet? After discarding my cauliflower (which isn't worth the hassle of returning), I sliced up the cucumbers, 2 celery hearts, and various bell peppers I bought, and stowed them along with the baby carrots and jalapenos for easy access.
In the work food I've prepared for today, I have cucumber (unlimited vegetable), a yogurt (protein? dairy? it's one of those, and mine are all small), a juice box (fruit), and a Nutrisystem Turkey Hot Dog and a slice of wheat bread. That should cover all eventualities... except for an afternoon snack. I'll throw some Nutrisystem Zesty Herb Mix or something in there.
Enjoy your daily dose of hippie music, Fatheads, it's time for work.
