Everglades and Panthers

So I headed over to Key West from whatever Key it was I slept on last night, and headed to the Starbucks to grab breakfast and further use up my giftcard.

Unfortunately, all the tables were taken, so I ate off the trunk of my car, since I'd already payed for half an hour of meter time.  I ate Nutricinnamon Squares Cereal, a juice box (fruit), 8 oz of nonfat milk (dairy), and a venti iced coffee.  Once again, I dumped my milk in the iced coffee to make the milk palatable.  I headed up from the Keys to US-41, where I stopped before entering the everglades to eat lunch.

And lunch was a nice box of Red Beans and Rice that was warming on the back deck of the car all morning.  It prepared me to head out onto the great journey through the everglades.

There was some really pretty country, but there were no good places to stop.  There were a number of restaurants and places with names like "gator bob's fanboat excursions", and I wasn't hungry and I don't have the scratch to finance a charter into the everglades.  This sign, however, I captured by pure accident.  I had popped up the camera to scare that car, for some reason, and that sign came up just as I stuck it out the sunroof.  It was the only one of its kind I saw, and it was awesome.  No panthers or gators were spotted or run over, so we'll call it a wash.

I'm staying with family for a few days on the west coast of Florida, so I had dinner with them this evening.  I had some asparagus, heirloom tomato, zuccini, a slice of wheat toast, and a few shrimp.  I erred on the side of caution and went low on my shrimp tonight, because I didn't want to overdo it.

With the filibuster of the EUC bill yesterday, my trip is in very serious jeopardy.  Unless a new bill is introduced and looks like it will pass next week, I'll probably be returning home and seriously considering something drastic like joining the military or stopping trying to find engineering work and either joining the fast-paced world of transportation services (truck driving) or consumables delivery (waiting tables).

Oh, I got weighed in this morning, but couldn't go barefoot, so I only have a weight number:

Weight: 289.6 lbs

Suck on that.

Fun in the Sunset

I caught sunrise on the east coast of Florida this morning, and I caught sunset off the Keys this evening.

But in between, there was much travel and 2 interesting meals.  One of the great food groups I love that I've often been denied (for years) by geography is seafood, so I had to have a day of it while the getting was good.  For lunch, I stopped and had some fried shrimp and onion rings.  Totally worth it, after my exile in the midwest for many years.

Before and after lunch, I spent most of the day on the A1A and US-1, which are both much more scenic than the interstate.  Just FYI, if you ever try it, the Canaveral State Park does not pass through to the other nearby national park, although your map will probably tell you it does.  Just go out to US-1 or 95, if you need to keep moving.  Otherwise, the parks look lovely, and if I ever come down again, I will spend some time in them.  I did eventually have to switch over to 95, because I wanted to catch the sunset in the Keys, and wouldn't be able to going 45 mph or less.

I stopped at a seafood joint for dinner, and had some fried clamstrips, fried fish (for the life of me I can't remember the kind), and peal and eat shrimp.  These came with a side of green beans and, I realized when they arrived, 2 enormous sides of fries.  I didn't eat many fries, or the cole slaw, both of which are now sitting in my cooler for... you know, I should just throw them out.  I don't really like cole slaw, and the fries just are terrible for me.  I enjoyed my little seafood binge, but tomorrow I've decided to go hardline diet, again.

I did make it to a decent spot in time to snap some shots of the sunset.  It appears there may have been some crap on my lens, which irks me, but I still like a number of the pictures I took.  I think I'm going to try and hit sunrise on the gulf coast in Texas and sunset on the west coast, as well, to round things out.

I didn't crap again today, and really hope to tomorrow morning, when I also get to have a shower since I'm staying in a legit campground tonight.  There's a Starbucks in Key West I think I'll target for breakfast, so I can hit internet and grab breakfast.  That's all I've got for today, party people, so I'm going to roll over and try to sleep.

Lunch

Grabbed a quick microwave lunch, so I should be off to workout after I run this posting.

I had the Tomato & Corn Chowder for the first time for lunch today.

It was a surprise hit, despite the fact that it seemed to contain no meat.  I don't know if I'll necessarily add it to my orders in the future, because I only order 14 meals at a time, but it definitely stays on the "edible" list.

I'm going to check a few job boards and modify my iPod Shuffle's workout playlists before I hit the treadmill/weights, but that shouldn't take more than an hour and change.  Between that and getting a shower, that should take me through to dinner.  It's an absolutely beautiful day out, here, so I may have to go for another drive where I learn just how bad I am with a camera.

Weigh In and Breakfast

Let's get right to it, shall we?

Weight:     322.8 lbs
Body Fat: 47.4%
Water:      40.4%

Good times, good times.  I would have worked out before breakfast, but I forgot to fix my alarm last night, and didn't get up until 8.  I will do my workout before lunch, instead.

For breakfast, I had the Berries & Multigrain Flakes Cereal.

I had my (now standard) wheat toast (carbohydrate) with a bit of chicken (protein) and a juice box (fruit) for sides. This combo of sides really fills me up in the morning, and I don't have any trouble making it to lunch.

Also, a partial gallery of yesterday's country adventure can be found here.

That is all until the workout and lunch update.  Now, it's time for the job boards.

Dinner and a Drive

So I had my dinner, then I went for a bit of a sunset drive, whose pictures I don't feel like sorting and posting tonight.

Dinner was a Thick Crust Pizza.

As always, not as good as the frozen equivalent, but still good.  For sides: cauliflower (vegetable), 2 tbsp of light bleu cheese dressing (fat), celery (unlimited vegetable) and a piece of wheat toast (carbohydrate).

The drive was mostly a success, but I've got about 200 pictures to sort through, many of which are dupes, or too close for it to matter without close inspection, so I'll put sorting them out until at least tomorrow.

Workout and Lunch

So today was my second weights day, but I ended up mucking about with technology.  One of the cords for the DDR mat was found last week, so I spent about 45-50 minutes doing that (actual play time ~30 minutes), during which I discovered that one of my old game discs was probably thrown away with an old ps2 that had gone bad.  After that, I did my first weight set.  I decided to do the lying flat parts of the routine on an incline instead of flat, so as not to be incapable of breathing properly.  I then spent 5 minutes on the treadmill to .31 miles, followed by a second weight set.  After that, it was lunch time.

Today, I had the frozen Chicken Quesadilla for lunch.

It was a most delicious meal, and I'm sad that I won't have another one for more than a month (I need to seriously deplete my stockpile of foods before I can get another monthly delivery of any kind).

It is a cold, dreary day here, so I'm going to go get my oil changed and then go out on a drive through the countryside with the camera.  I sent out a few new job apps this morning, and my heart is full of hope, so cross your fingers for the fatass.

Lunch, Dinner and Photos

As you're aware, my new camera gives me an enormous erection, so I drove around a bit today and took some pictures with it, but we'll get through the lunch and dinner updates first.

For lunch, I had Red Beans & Rice with Sausage.

As previously mentioned, this is one of my favoritist of dishes, so there's no real need to cover it in greater detail.

For dinner, I once again had the Salisbury Steak with Macaroni & Cheese.

For sides, I had 2 tbsp of light ranch dressing (fat), some celery (unlimited vegetable) and some broccoli (vegetable).

It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal, which also included a piece of wheat toast (carbohydrate).  I'm still trying to clear up freezer space to reduce the ire drawn from other members of the household.

Horse!  I spent a good part of the afternoon driving about the area getting used to the new camera.  I've gone ahead and uploaded these photos at full resolution, and the full gallery can be viewed here, where you can click the "download" button to view full-size.

Enjoy the gallery, or don't.

Weigh In and Wii

It is a glorious morning, and time for some numbers.

Weight:     327.5 lbs
Body Fat: 49.5%
Water:      38.6%

I'm beginning to have some serious doubts about the accuracy of the body fat and water percent the scale gives.  It's been more than a little inconsistent with regards to water weight and body fat (somehow, I doubt my body fat jumped almost 2% from yesterday).

In other news, I won't be Wii fitting, this morning, because I'm trying to put together a dumbell/isometrics routine.  I spent a bit of time on it yesterday, and am knocking out the rest of it this morning.  The rest of my workout time this morning is going to be spent finishing unpacking and setting up the last of our exercise equipment (dumbbells and rack, basic weight bench, ps2 for DDR).  I'll either line out the routine later on today or tomorrow morning.  I may do a later morning Wii fitting, I haven't decided, yet.

Dinner

So I've continued playing with the new camera this afternoon, and dinner pictures went a bit more smoothly than lunch pictures.

I decided on the Lasagna with Meat Sauce for dinner, because it never disappoints me.

For sides, I had my 2 Tbsp of Fat Free Ranch (christ, this may be what kills me), some celery (unlimited vegetable), cauliflower (vegetable), some green olives (fat) and a slice of wheat toast (carbohydrate).

As always, the lasagna was good, and I actually felt like eating dessert, afterward.

I had one of my many Ice Cream Sandwiches for dessert, and I have no complaints about it.

Tomorrow, I'm going to spend a bit of the day driving around with the new camera, see if there's any fun to be had with it.  Now, the crapper calls to me.

Lunch and Excitement

For those of you following the twitter updates, you know I got the new camera today.  I have unbox porn for you here.

For those of you only here for food porn, rejoice in fancy new camera pictures of lunch.

For lunch, I had the Cheesy Mashed Potatoes, because they are delicious.

I didn't really feel like having anything else with lunch, and I felt full afterwards.

I disabled the datestamp after I dumped my initial pictures onto the computer, so that won't have to happen ever again.  In other exciting news, I finally managed a bit of a crap after lunch.  The candy must have payed off.  Now I'm going to go read more of the manual, because my knowledge of aperture settings and exposure time has little to do with anything but viewing photography.
