Bright and Urly
So I woke up with that in my head, and I needed a good laugh to convince myself that it was necessary to get up this early.

Ah, I do love those ridiculous numbers I get on the third or fourth day of this diet, they're certainly very affirming.
My breakfast entree this morning was Nutricinnamon Squares Cereal with its 40z of milk.
I also engaged my intestines with an egg (protein), a slice of bread (carbohydrate) and an apple (fruit).
I've still got to pack work food, but I'm thinking a yogurt, a juice box, a Nutrisystem Snack of some kind, and Nutrisystem Red Beans and Rice with Sausage for lunch. Now it's time for get-pumped cheesy 80s music:

Lunch Out, Small Dinner
So I had the walking tour thing this morning, and that meant going out for lunch before heading back to the plant.
I had a salad at a Greek diner that had cheese, bacon and gyro meat. I only used one of the containers of house dressing, which was probably still too much. There was around an oz or two of gyro meat, 2 thin slices of bacon and a little bit of cheese. The portions weren't too bad, but it was probably too much fat, although it was better than some of my options (a gyro with a large side of Greek potatoes, for example) and I'm pretty okay with it. Also: I've decided that this is in keeping with my Goal, because there was nothing fried in it.
As a result, I was only a bit hungry when I got home, so I ate a South Beach snack bar. Later in the evening, I grabbed some celery and carrots with light ranch dressing for dinner, which I'm going to eat while watching season 2 of Breaking Bad. Season 1 was a Christmas gift that I very much enjoyed over the New Years weekend, so I put seasons 2 right at the top of the queue, along with the last blu ray of season 1 of Mad Men as well as seasons 2 and 3 of that show (we indulged in a slight marathon of a sibling's gift of Season 1 over Christmas, and now I have 2 new show addictions).
G'night, Fatheads!

Where's the sun?
The one thing I really miss about second shift is seeing the sun before I go into work, and not having to wake up, eat breakfast and get dressed under cover of darkness.

Things are off to a start in the right direction, and isn't that all that any of us can hope for out of life?
Breakfast was an exciting gastronomical adventure into well-traveled territory with the Nutrisystem Low-Fat Granola that I so enjoy.
For sides, I had a slice of wheat toast (carbohydrate), an egg (protein) and an apple (fruit). The 4oz of milk is part of the serving of granola. A little trick I've learned from doing this diet: the same amount of food seems like much more when you put it on individual dishes. I feel more full when I eat cereal from a bowl, an egg and toast from a plate and my apple off of another dish than when I just pile my food together onto one over-flowing plate. May not work for everyone, but it certainly seems to work on my headspace.
I do a fair amount of walking about for my job, which is nice. Most professionals maybe walk to their desk in the morning and then to lunch and the bathroom over the course of the day. In my job, I'm away from the desk wandering the plant at least once an hour, because I need to look at something in person rather than just in an emailed photo. Since my desks are on the shop floor, even my bathroom walks are as much as a quarter mile.
But today I get to do some less engineery walking and more touristy walking. The company I work for is fairly new to the area, and we have a vested interest in getting to know the history and culture. As such, we're all taking a half-day "course" that includes a lecture and walking tour of the city. I kind of wish I could just walk/drive directly to the tour, because work is outside of the city, and I need to go out to work to take a bus in for the tour (which isn't that big a deal, since it's just my normal commute, but it seems kind of wasteful).
That's the news from where I be, Fatheads, Guten Tag!

Dinner, Temptation Resistance
So whenever I've had an unpleasant appointment after work, I've gotten in the habit of "rewarding" myself with takeout from either the supermarket (jesus christ, when did the Whole Foods hot bar get so good for fat people?) or fast food. Today marks day one of breaking that habit. Fuck yeah, not eating delicious things that are high in both starches AND fats... Sweet candy zombielord, I could go for some starches and fats in quantity.
But no, instead, I treated myself to a frozen Nutrisystem Salisbury Steak with Macaroni & Cheese.
Pretty decent, and the cauliflower (vegetable), celery (unlimited vegetable), 2 tbsp of light ranch dressing (fat) and a slice of wheat toast (carbohydrate) didn't go amiss, either. Wine and apples in the background: not a part of this particular meal, but the diet Mug root beer is.
For dessert, I had a Peppermint Cookie Patty, of which I apparently do not have a stock picture. It was delicious, be jealous.
While at work, I ate one of those apples for a morning snack, and ended up eating my yogurt with the Nutrisystem lunch I brought with me. I did not have an afternoon snack, which is definitely part of why I was starving by the time I got home a bit after 5.
So I learned something new yesterday that I thought I would share with you. I'm going to be doing some traveling in the near future, fairly frequently, for work, and I didn't want to have to worry about the Schwan deliveries coming to my home when I wasn't here, and I also needed more dry food for travel, so I wanted to switch to the regular program for a month, which they now, apparently, make very easy. However, the customer service agent told me that I could go on the Silver program (for old people) and only get one snack a day and save a bit of cash, so I did that for my next shipment.
That's about all I've got tonight, Fatheads, I have to turn off the computer in an hour and a half, so it's time for me to take care of other things before zero hour.

Sleeping Poorly Is Better Than Eating Poorly

Thus recommences the slouch towards Bethlehem. On the way, I think I'll slouch towards the kitchen.
For breakfast, I had the frozen Nutrisystem French Toast.
For sides, I had a slice of wheat toast, an egg, and a... Fugi apple, I think? I don't know, there's a bag of them, they taste alright, maybe I'll buy more the next time I go shopping.
Sitting in my desk, I have the old stand-by Nutrisystem Red Beans & Rice with Sausage for lunch, and I'm bringing an apple (of the not-entirely-identified category noted above) and a yogurt for morning snack. If I'm there late enough for afternoon snack, I have the soy chips from yesterday.
Later, Fatheads.

Dinner, Goals
So I got off work, manged to snag a last-minute dentist appointment, and then was famished when I got home, so I decided to destroy the last of my ham and turkey (around an oz total) in a wheat bread sandwich.
I also had some light ranch dressing and a few carrots. This picture is halfway through, as, in my haste, I forgot that I was being all open and honest about my miserable life choices and shit.
This lead to a Nutrisystem Ice Cream Sandwich for dessert.
While I was at work, I ate my yogurt and juice box for a morning snack, my meatball melt for lunch (Nutrisystem frozen food) and a South Beach snack bar for a snack in the afternoon.
Now to the meat of things:
1 - Off the hooch again, until either March 1st or I break 250 lbs.
2 - No more takeout (addendum, if takeout is necessary, I may only order salad, the least manly of foods... and no fried food salads that only barely qualify as one)
3 - Early to Bed, Early to Rise - TV/Computer off at 8pm, with a workout right after work if I have the energy for it.
These are all I can think of right now, I'll list more as I come up with them, but those are certainly a good starting place.

No Resolution
I don't really believe in New Year's Resolutions. Unfortunately, the timing of the New Year coincides with the end of the holiday season, a season of over-eating and general bad diet behavior. So, in re-dedicating myself to better living, I get to look like the sort of asshole who has Resolutions, so I may as well state some long-term goals for this period in the great adventure I call my life.
Weight: 318.4 lbs
Body Fat: 45.7%
Water: 41.6%
Those aren't the goals, if you were confused, those are where I am, today. I tried being semi-good without the glorious public shaming that you, my dear Fatheads, provide me prior to the holidays, and it worked out to where I was sort of maintaining my weight but just barely, so my first resolution is to come back to you. I need the incentive of having a written record that shows my indiscretions and triumphs to keep my fat ass in line.
Other than that, I have to get showered and ready for work, so I'll write up the nitty gritty of the goals this evening, it's time to get to the daily breakfast report/work-food-packing.
At any rate, I ate some frozen Nutrisystem Pancakes for breakfast, along with a juice box (fruit), 8oz of milk (dairy), and I just realized I forgot to have a piece of toast for a carbohydrate... I guess I'll grab one on the way out the door.
For lunch, I'm packing a Light&Fit Yogurt (small) and a juice box for a morning snack (which I rarely actually eat), as well as a frozen Nutrisystem Meatball Parmesan Melt for lunch, and a bag of Nutrisystem Sour Cream and Onion Soy Chips for afternoon snack.
Off to shower and work,
Happy New Year, Fatheads!
